Podcasting - So easy even a 5 year older can do it!

Check out Ben's podcast if you don't believe me! Ok well I am the producer but he does the show ideas himself. http://benpodcast.podbean.com/
Podbean www.podbean.com Free place to try your podcasting skills. You may need to upgrade your account if you really get into this! It is CHEAP if you do need to upgrade. SO easy!
Audacity http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/windows This FREE download will allow you to begin creating and editing podcasts. Here is another link to a resource on how to use Audacity. This PDF is from Council Rock School and was produced for teacher training by Larry Kling, 2006.
Logitech - www.logitech.com You will need to look at a nice headset and microphone. I found a USB mic/headset I liked from Logitech but feel free to try whatever you can borrow first. Until you are committed to the podcasting do not invest too much in equipment!
iTunes - http://www.apple.com/itunes/ To download iTunes for Free. You will need to convert your files and compress your audio files to make uploading to podbean or any podcasting server more effective. This will save time in uploading and space so you can keep your site free for as long as possible. The www.apple.com website had a nice help feature that will teach you how to use the advanced tools for file compression. Then you could add your podcast to iTunes for others to subscribe to also! http://www.apple.com/itunes/store/podcaststechspecs.html Enjoy!

Podcasting with GarageBand and add some pictures to your story.
GarageBand is an easy tool to use to take podcasting to the next level. You can add digital pictures to the Podcast track or place a Video in the Video track. You need to choose between photos and video, GarageBand only allows for one or the other. If you want to get fancy with a combo or pictures and video you will need to use a program like Final Cut.
There are some tricks to becoming a Garageband Expert but it is fairly easy to create a Podcast without getting too fancy. Try Apple's Online Support for some great tutorials on GarageBand before you get started.
OK first you need to be working on a MAC to use GarageBand. This is why I started out using Audacity for my podcasting. I only owned a PC. It has been my pleasure to utilize a MAC for the past several months and I find that using the GarageBand program has opened the way for my upgraded audio and now video projects.
I use the same Logitech Headset for my podcasting with GarageBand that I do for my Audacity.
I have to admit I make several takes to get it right. I have even created a second track and re-record the same line to see if one is better than the other.
I would say if you are going to start this adventure be sure to remember to save often... and try to Rename your project at least once so you can go back to a previous version if you really don't like your results. I hope you also find a friend or as in my case a fellow classmate that can share with you some good tips.
